Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior PHP Developer to join our development team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing our proprietary PHP native Learning Management System (LMS) while contributing to various application projects built on Laravel, Slim, and other frameworks.

Required Technical Skills

Core Requirements:

• PHP Native Development: Senior to expert-level proficiency in vanilla PHP development
• API Development & Integration: Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, API protocols, and third-party integrations
• Frontend Technologies: Proficient in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
• Web Application Development: Experience with responsive design principles and modern web application architecture

Preferred Technical Qualifications:

• Laravel Framework: Working knowledge and hands-on experience preferred
• PHP UI/UX Libraries: Familiarity with PHP-based frontend libraries and frameworks
• Database Management: MySQL/PostgreSQL proficiency and database optimization skills
• Version Control: Git workflow and collaborative development practices
• Testing: Unit testing, integration testing (PHPUnit experience)
• Performance Optimization: Caching strategies, code optimization techniques
• Security: PHP security best practices and vulnerability prevention
• Server Environment: Linux/Apache/Nginx deployment and configuration knowledge
• User Management: Role-based access control and user authentication systems
• SCORM/xAPI Standards: Knowledge of e-learning standards and protocols
• Learning Management Systems: Previous exposure to LMS platforms and educational technology solutions

Essential Non-Technical Requirements

• English Proficiency: Exceptional written and verbal English communication skills (business-fluent level required)

Process & Soft Skills

• Experience Level: Minimum 5+ years of PHP development experience required
• Team Collaboration: Agile/Scrum methodology experience and collaborative development approach
• Problem-Solving: Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills for complex applications
• Documentation: Ability to create clear technical documentation and maintain comprehensive code comments

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and enhance our existing PHP native LMS platform
• Collaborate on system integrations and API development
• Contribute to projects across multiple PHP frameworks (Laravel, Slim, etc.)
